In 1983 after studying and graduating with Dr Lily Cheung in London, I became a member of the Cheung San Acupuncture Society which later became one of the founding associations of the British Acupuncture Council.
 
After attending acupuncture conferences in Beijing, Guangzong and Hong Kong; where I also gave conference lectures, I was admitted to the International Association of Acupuncturists H/K.
 
Through the friendships formed during several visits to China, and in particular Sun Yet Sen Medical University Guangzhou, I am well informed of current developments in acupuncture research.
